Cowon shipping iAudio 10 PMP tomorrow: $160 and up

Remember that stunner of a PMP that Cowon teased us with back in September? Better brush up, 'cause she's shipping out in the US of A starting tomorrow. The iAudio 10 is -- for all intents and purposes -- a refreshed and re-imagined S9, boasting a curved 400 x 240 (3-inch) display, microphone input, TV output, FM radio and a document viewer. Unlike the D3 before it, the company looks to be eschewing Android on this one for its own homegrown operating system, and in typical Cowon fashion, it'll support practically every file format under the sun. The I10-16WH (16GB) will ship in white for $159.99, while the ebony I10-32BL (32GB) edition will go for $199.99. We're told that the Buy It Now link will be live tomorrow, and we'll update this post just as soon as it arrives in our hands.

iPhone 4S gets official date and blessing by C-Spire, all yours on November 11th

Oh, heck yeah. We've already been delighted by the news that C-Spire (the hip carrier formerly known as Cellular South) is the lucky recipient of the iPhone 4S, but we now have a date -- and it's coming up pretty fast. Both the 4S and the 4 will be ready for your purchase on November 11th, unsurprisingly for the same exact cost as the big three national carriers: $99 for the 8GB iPhone 4 and $199-399 for the iPhone 4S, but the deal's sweetened by the offering of unlimited data (though the two lowest plans exclude streaming). If you're down with that, it's a good idea to head over to the site and get pre-registered as soon as possible. Now that the little guys officially have the iconic device, who's next? We're more than a little enamored with Arduino and its DIY microcontroller ilk. But we'll admit, there are a few limitations that the compulsive prototyper might find bothersome. Chief amongst them is the lack of modularity, Now, sure, you can easily add all sorts of sensors, ports and radios to your Uno (or Duemilanove if you're old school) but that generally requires piling shield, upon shield, upon shield, until you've got a stack of boards three-feet high. And, if you want to use an ARM chip instead of an AVR for a project? Well that's a whole other set of boards. Kevin Greene has decided to address these perceived "weaknesses" with BoardX -- a modular, open-source prototyping platform.

8.2-inch Motorola Xoom 2 appears in Carphone Warehouse ad, priced ?400

Motorola Xoom 2 leaks are nothing new, but now we have the first hints of when the device may launch in Europe, along with tentative pricing information. A leaked Irish Carphone Warehouse ad obtained by Engadget shows the Wifi-only 8.2-inch Xoom 2 with a price tag of €399.90 ($545, £350). Given the ad's festive focus, a launch before the end of the year also seems to be on the cards.

Specs-wise, the ad doesn't reveal anything we didn't already know -- there's Android 3.2 on-board, along with 16GB of storage. No mention of CPU or RAM, but we've heard of a 1.2 GHz dual-core chip and 1GB from earlier leaks. All standard stuff. The price is the most interesting thing by far on this new flyer, though, and we're sure a few Europeans will be tempted by the €400/£350 price point over the holidays.

If you got your hands on a shiny new Atrix 2 last week and you're feeling a bit adventureous, XDA forum member Jimmy273 has compiled a pretty straightforward manual root method to achieve coveted superuser access. Jimmy273 makes it very clear that he cannot take full credit, as he simply translated the root method for the Bionic originally created by p3droid over at the MyDroidWorld forums. Full instructions and all the necessary files are available at the source link, as is the file for the one-click method, which is said to work just fine.

Google Cloud Print comes to HP ePrint printers

HP has become the first major OEM to deliver support for Google Cloud Print in retail-boxed printers. In an official release, HP announced that its ePrint-enabled printers are now fully Cloud Print compatible. Just sign in to your Google account, pick your HP ePrint device, and you're ready to fire off a print job from anywhere you've got Internet access. Well, as long as your app supports Cloud Print as well -- like Gmail and Google Docs, for example.

We're curious, though -- how many of you are still printing? Like our pals at Engadget, our printers have been mostly gathering dust for the last few years.

Mitoza is a fun, freaky Web toy with an artistic look

While not a game per se, I found Mitoza intriguing enough to spend quite some time with it. You start off with a seed, and are then presented with two choices: you can either click a flower pot, or click a cute little birdie.

If you click the flower pot, a flower pot appears and the seed is planted inside. You're then presented with two further choices -- a water can or a bottle of fertilizer. Each choice you make causes your creation to morph, and presents you with two other choices.

There's no winning or losing, really. Each "game" usually lasts around four or five choices, at which point the plant/animal dies in some creative (but not too gruesome) way. At this point you instantly start over with a new seed.

The graphics are captivating; the whole thing has a cinematic feel to it, with a bit of artificial camera shake added for style.

All in all, it's a fun, peaceful way to spend a few minutes, and it might even make you think a little bit while you're at it.

Online video advertising company Jivox has raised $8.2 million in new funding led by Fortinsure Ventures with existing investors Opus and Helion participating in the round.
